      *Market & Port Notes:*

  *

*Al Arish (Egypt):* As of early February 2026, Al Arish is
undergoing a major transformation with the development of its first
bulk cement silo terminal. The port is increasingly competitive for
Mediterranean exports. *Note:* Navigation was briefly suspended in
early January due to weather; check the current 7-day forecast for
    the late-February laycan.

  *

*Sunderland (UK):* The port remains a niche hub for "circular
economy" commodities like Fly Ash. Vessels must comply with the
updated *2026 Port Regulation and Planning* guidelines. Current
berthing is efficient, but ensure all ballast water management
systems (BWMS) meet the D-2 standard as per the latest UK Merchant
    Shipping regulations.

  *

*Iskenderun (Yazıcı):* Yazıcı terminal is a high-volume industrial
berth. While congestion for dry bulk is moderate (averaging 1–2 days
wait), it is essential to confirm berth availability for Fly Ash, as
steel product operations often take priority at this terminal.

  *

*Sicily (Italy):* Port choice in Sicily (e.g., Catania, Augusta, or
Pozzallo) will dictate final draft restrictions for a 15,000 mt
geared vessel. Most primary ports are currently handling high
volumes of construction materials, so prompt berthing should be
confirmed 72 hours prior to ETA.
